High Risk Populations

Although most women are low risk in pregnancy, those that do develop complications can still be cared for by our practice. With our supportive OB/GYN physician involvement we can continue to provide primary/prenatal care to patients carrying twins or with gestational diabetes, as well as a variety of other high risk conditions. We refer to the appropriate specialists as needed, i.e. perinatologists, endocrinologists, hematologists, and nutritionists.

VBAC's

We have always been very proud of our VBAC's (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean deliveries). We have provided this service successfully for years. The medical/legal climate of these times has changed our VBAC policy. Only exceptional cases will be considered for attempt at VBAC with consultation and approval of our OB/GYN physicians.

Repeat Cesarean Deliveries/Planned C-sections

Women planning a repeat C-section can benefit from the services of a CNM. We provide prenatal care, assist with scheduling their planned C-section, assist the surgeon in the OR on the day of delivery, and do postpartum follow-up rounds in the hospital. You do not lose us as a care provider. Postpartum follow-up and continued gyn and family planning services are available.
